What makes winter here
Skiing, cross-country, winter walks
In winter, Hotel Bavaria sits in the heart of Oberstaufen, below the Nagelfluhkette ridge with the Hochgrat at 1,800 metres. The ski pass and the cable cars are among the benefits of the Oberstaufen PLUS card our guests receive, as are the bus and the regional train. Cross-country trails and winter walking paths begin right at the house, and the bus takes you to the lifts at no extra cost. If you prefer to stay down in the valley, the Aquaria adventure pool is included with the same card, and our indoor pool is kept at 28 degrees, every day from 7 a.m.
After a day outside, the sauna is open daily from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., along with the infrared cabin and the quiet areas. Then it is straight into the Allgäuer Stube, where the tiled stove is already warm.

Cross-country track and winter path outside
The cross-country tracks and the cleared winter walking paths start right at the hotel. If you ski, you clip in outside the front door; if you walk, you follow the prepared paths down into the valley or up towards the Nagelfluhkette ridge. For downhill skiing, the bus takes you to the lifts in a few minutes and counts as a secondary benefit of Oberstaufen PLUS.

Winter at Hotel Bavaria
It is one of the benefits of Oberstaufen PLUS, and this is how the card works: for every night you stay you receive one benefit day, meaning one main benefit of your choice plus any number of secondary benefits. The ski pass and the cable cars count as main benefits, the bus and regional train as secondary ones. Your personal QR code arrives by email before you travel. For the smaller drag lifts in the ski area an additional plastic guest card was required most recently; we are happy to prepare one for you.
